YK11 is a synthetic steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (steroidal SARM). It is derived from 5-α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and functions as a selective and partial agonist of the androgen receptor (AR).
YK11 is currently the only SARM known to increase the expression of the activin binding protein Follistatin (FST), with the induction of FST being crucial for its anabolic effects.
